Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney waxing lyrical about Ange Postecoglou, believes he will do great things in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur’s new attractive brand of attacking football throughout the ongoing season has been particularly noticeable, making it an impressive first season at the club for Ange Postecoglou as his team with his team fourth on the points table and on the verge of qualifying for the Champions League withonly a handful of games remaining.

The North Londoners kicked off dominantly at the start of the season but were impeded to some extent at one stage with injuries to key players. However the Australian manager rallied the troops the best he could and ensured they kept pushing on. The fortitude and impressive manner in which the former Celtic manager has led Spurs and the kick-ass kind of football they are playing under him has resulted in praises from Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney.

The 38-year-old Rooney is taken up with how Postecoglou has managed to get his ideas across to his players so quickly and feels the work that the big Aussie had put in during the pre-season with the players is producing wonderful results. Big Ange has achieved great things at Celtic, as well as back in Australia and Japan, with titles won and his creditable start in England suggests achievements are awaiting him and Spurs in the Premier League.

Rooney said to Optus Sport: “I think it’s really refreshing because he’s always honest in his interviews as well, whether the team’s done well or whether they haven’t played so well, so I think he’s going to be a top manager in this league.”

The former Manchester United ace predicts that Postecoglou is going to be a top-level manager in the Premier League, with all the prerequisite qualities needed to succeed at the highest level. Add to that a great track record and given the kind of galvanizing start he has had at Spurs, things are expected to get even better with time.
