Enzo Fernandez most deservedly won the Man of the Match award, with a 7.8 out of 10 rating on the stats site from WhoScored, rating him Chelsea’s highest rated player in the win over Brighton.
The brace Enzo scored obviously made a huge difference in deciding the final outcome of the match and it was a pleasure to watch him play in a difficult situation.
It was when Gallagher was sent off just before half time that the dynamics of the game changed, making it expedient for Enzo to play a more demanding role in controlling both ball and game as much as he could.
Finally, Brighton were left flustered, denied of many opportunities to create clear cut chances, with the majority of the credit going to their rivals’ midfield and Enzo in particular.
Enzo was primarily responsible for providing the much-needed leadership and control in midfield, while also not forgetting the crucial goals he scored to win the match.
