Erik ten Hag left left hapless on Man Utd plan with Sofyan Amrabat U-turn

Manchester United transfer wishlist target Sofyan Amrabat is also sitting dead center in the crosshairs of German giants Bayern Munich, who are apparently looking to lock in on their interest in the Fiorentina ace in the coming weeks.

Erik ten Hag looks to be facing stiff competition from the Bundesliga giants for the Fiorentina midfielder before next month’s transfer deadline closes. Amrabat, 26, has just one year remaining on his contract with the Italian outfit whilst being wooed by some of Europe’s top clubs after his impressive stint for Morocco at the World Cup last year.

Despite no club having made a move for the impressive playmaker during the January transfer window, expectations are that he will be leaving Fiorentina in the coming weeks. Ten Hag is a self-professed avid admirer of Amrabat as they had both worked together briefly at FC Utrecht.

Sky Sports Germany have now released the latest news that Amrabat’s representatives are also more than aware of Bayern Munich’s need for a No.6 and that the latter have already shortlisted the midfielder. This impending news of keen focused interest from the Bundesliga giants will seriously put a major dent in Ten Hag’s plans, as the Dutchman is hoping to seal a deal for Amrabat before next month’s transfer window closes.

Ten Hag is well aware that in order to achieve this, he will have to raise additional transfer funds through player sales after having already spent lavishly on Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund this summer.
