Carlo Ancelotti informs Real Madrid hierarchy in key transfer meeting he wants to sign in-demand Harry Kane

Right on the trot after receiving the confirmation that Real Madrid want him to be continuing as the boss, Ancelotti has revealed that he wants Spurs’ talismanic frontman and lynchpin Harry Kane to lead the line for the Madridistas next season

The Italian doyen informed the Madrid hierarchy at a key transfers meeting of his intention, according to The Athletic. Next on the agenda was also the matter of Jude Bellingham’s potential signing from Borussia Dortmund, and Karim Benzema’s possible move to Saudi Arabia.

Los Blancos for sure would not be the only top guns having designs on Kane as the England captain reaches the end of his six-year contract at Spurs. Assuredly as his current deal runs out next summer, one would expect this window to be Tottenham’s last real chance to cash in on their lynchpin, with not many clubs better placed than Ancelotti’s Madridistas who would try to make the transfer happen, although it is to be expected that the obdurate Spurs president Daniel Levy would have absolutely no desire to sell Kane.

Understandably there is also the issue of finances to be taken into serious consideration as Jude Bellingham is reportedly on the prowl for a new roost and is focusing on the Spanish capital club, meaning the La Liga club will already be spending heavily elsewhere this summer. Florentino Perez might struggle to raise the cash to secure Kane as well, besides the other mitigating fact that Erik ten Hag is all gung-ho about bringing Kane to Old Trafford.

As the situation currently stands, a lot depends on the Spurs chairman – who for several years has made very clear that his star striker is not for sale – who’s very well aware that Kane can just walk out on a free next summer, yet the feisty Levy seems ready to risk losing him even if it means being able to prolong his services for another season.

Another primary factor is the England striker’s on-going quest to become the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer – a dream that would have to be put on hold indefinitely if Ancelotti succeeds in luring the striker to Madrid.
