The news is out – Paul Pogba’s personal trainer ‘Coach Maddy’ has confirmed the midfielder will be bidding Manchester United farewell this summer when his contract runs out.
Pogba, 28, had been featuring in the headlines regularly for his long-rumored desire to exit the Manchester club, teasing the media salaciously all th is while by name-dropping the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and recently Paris Saint-Germain as his big deal is set to run out this June.
Pogba is set to play a for United as Although United’s interim manager Ralf Rangnick had earlier announced his intention to used Pogba in a pivotal role, his trainer – popularly to as ‘Coach Maddy’ – insists the midfielder already has his sights set on more lucrative targets.
Speaking of the midfielder’s immediate future, Maddy told Calciomercato: “Regarding Pogba, at the end of June he will no longer be a Manchester United player.
“I think it is right for him to look elsewhere, perhaps Manchester also wants to renew themselves and the most sensible thing is to separate.
“The time will come to change and try new challenges, new emotions, new environments for both Pogba and Manchester, to try something different and maybe they will both be happy.
“Right now I think he’s enjoying himself, they have a good team, especially since [Cristiano] Ronaldo decided to return. The problem is that the results don’t come.
“A top player doesn’t waste his time on minor competitions, he wants to be motivated to play for ambitious trophies.”
It was revealed only last month by Sportsmail that Pogba was then happy to leave his future undecided until the end of the season, with the Frenchman even alluding to the possibility of him staying on.
The new breeze of change has blown in now with French giants PSG in a frenzy to to bolster their squad once more after unceremoniously crashing out of the Champions League earlier this week and are now in a mad scramble to assemble a new team and is rumored to be putting together an attractive homecoming package to sign the midfielder.
Another option, according to Coach Maddy, are Juventus, the club Pogba turned out for in 178 appearances during his four-year stint at the Los Madridistas between 2012 and 2016 after leaving United.
This time, however, there are apparently no offers hinted at by the midfielder’s camp from previously highly-touted aspirants Real Madrid, whom the former had long been waxing lyrical about.
“Yes yes. Paul can return to Juve,” Maddy said, speaking separately to Il Bianconero. “He has good relations with the Bianconeri but he could also be at PSG.
“I think PSG needs a midfielder like him and he could go and play in France.
“At Real Madrid I would exclude him because there is no longer [Zinedine] Zidane, he would have gone only in that case. Juve or PSG at the moment, but you never know what can happen, we’ll see.”
