Jadon Sancho moved swiftly to delete an old tweet from his Manchester City youth team days that had suddenly resurfaced after his Manchester United move was finally agreed.
The 21-year old winger had been rigorously pursued by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the Red Devils for the best part of two summers and a deal has been finally agreed on in principle for £72.9-million with Borussia Dortmund.
Fans were obviously delighted with the latest news, but it also quickly got rival fans anxiously browsing through his old catalogue of tweets from his City youth days. One in particular was resurfaced quickly and started doing the rounds again, before Sancho was able to delete it without mention.
The tweet was posted back in September 2016 and simply said “Football is blue!” with a photo of Sancho celebrating in a Manchester City kit.
Sancho will be soon be donning the red kit of United next season, with the winger expected to sign a five-year contract with the club once medicals have been completed.
He is currently with the England squad at Euro 2020 and is preparing to take on Ukraine in the quarter-finals this weekend despite having only featured for six minutes so far in the competition, coming off the bench for the final group game against Czech Republic.
