Messi again leads the way for Barcelona’s great win

An immediate response was needed from the Barcelona team and it has again arrived when the Blaugrana snatched all three points against Elche last night, registering a dominant 3-0 victory again on the elegant wings of talisman Lionel Messi.

The Spanish papers are once again optimistic and buoyant with hope that Ronald Koeman may again begin to show some signs of life, with Mundo Deportivo saying that there are goals and there is a league, suggesting the title race is not over just yet for the Blaugrana side.

With his latest two new goals, both fired in the second half, Messi is now once again the Pichichi leader in La Liga. The Argentine sits on 18 goals, two more than currently second-placed Luis Suárez, his former Barca strike-mate although there’s still a long way to go as both Madrid teams have yet to play their games in hand.

Barca diehards will be hopeful of seeing more of this resurgence in the near future. Long shot or not, at least there’re still signs of a league going on for Messi and his boys, as the paper says

SPORT, on the other hand, are talking about Messi specifically, which is understandable.

In a tricky match against Elche, who can be a foxy opponent, Messi again rose to the occasion and secured the victory on the night to ensure with this win that Barcelona are currently third in the table.

Big games now await the Catalan giants with the next against Sevilla.
