Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah was noticeably missing from his team’s training session at Melwood on Wednesday, only a few days before the Reds are set to travel to Goodison Park for the Merseyside Derby.
After Manchester City’s convincing win over Arsenal at the Etihad on Wednesday evening, Everton fans can now breathe a sigh of relief to know that Liverpool can no longer win the Premier League title with a win over the Blues on Sunday night. All the same, either way, Everton will surely be looking to throw a spanner in the works so as not to make things easy for the Reds.
Star striker Salah unfortunately had to miss out on Liverpool’s 6-0 friendly over Blackburn Rovers at the end of last week and he’s now missed another session at Melwood, which has led to a few questions about the Egyptian’s status and well-being heading back into the coming restart game.
Everton themselves are not without their own injury worries to deal with, but it now looks a possibility they could be about to face a Liverpool side minus dangerman Salah.
Understandably, the Reds will still not be lacking attacking talent with the likes of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi on display still but not having to face Salah in their first game back could be a big boost for the Everton defense.
