Newcastle United fans totally disenamored with Mike Ashley’s 13-year reign at Tyneside have enthusiastically lauded a takeover update from the Daily Star (via NUFC 360 as he is set to hand over the ownership of the Tyneside club.
According to the report, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), the PCP Capital Partners led by businesswoman Amanda Staveley and the billionaire Reuben brothers will all be handed over the keys to the club by the CEO of Sports Direct next week as the Premier League are set to finally approve the deal.
The bid is expected to transform the Magpies into one of the world’s richest clubs besides serving to end one of the most contentious ownerships of a football club in the modern era.
It has never been in doubt that the relationship between members of the Toon faithful and Ashley has been far from desirable and the takeover would end the 55-year old’s inglorious reign of at St. James’ Park.
