Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has been quick to deny reports claiming that he would like to see 14 people leave the club as part of a mass overhaul this summer.
23-year-old Mbappe was strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid on a free transfer ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, but decided instead to commit his future to the Parisian outfit by signing a new three-year contract, making him the highest-paid player in football today.
Mbappe’s immensely lucrative new deal allegedly comes with him given more control over how the club operates, including decisions over the futures of players and staff, which is admittedly quite a clout to wield.
Recent reports in the media, including one from Spain, claim that Mbappe has drawn up a 14-man blacklist which includes senior figures such a manager Mauricio Pochettino and fellow striker Neymar, although he is said to have a close relationship with both.
However, Mbappe has since immediately taken to Twitter to reply to the disturbing tweet by SPORTbible – which has since been deleted – posting the word “FAKE” to deny the existence of such salacious rumors.
Pochettino, who has just over a year remaining on his PSG contract, recently expressed his desire to stay in charge of the Ligue 1 champions for the 2022-23 campaign, while Neymar has also publicly affirmed his decision and desire to remain at PSG, with the 30-year-old forward contracted to the club until the summer of 2025.
