After winning 18 out of 21 Bundesliga matches, Bayern Munich have decided to offer a contract extension to Hans-Dieter Flick until 2023.
The 55-year-old originally joined Bayern as an assistant to Niko Kovac.
He became interim coach when Kovac was sacked on 3 November, one day after Bayern were trashed 5-1 by Eintracht Frankfurt.
But things changed under Flick leadership.
“The club is very happy with Hansi Flick’s work,” said Rummenigge.
“The team has developed under his leadership and we’re playing attractive football, which is reflected in the results.”
Flick himself was a former Bayern player in 1980s and was a long-term assistant to Joachim Low until he left Germany national team after winning the fourth World Cup title.
