[VIDEO] Due to COVID-19, Barcelona wants to reduce player’s salaries

Barcelona board are considering to reduce player’s salaries due to the economic impact of the coronavirus.

The Spanish giant are seeking to cover their budget this season which exceeds one billion euros.

One of the measures that was discussed at a board meeting together with club captain Lionel Messi last week was the possibility of a wage cut until the end of the season.

Messi told this to his teammates, and so far the reaction has been positive, but nothing is agreed yet on how much they will lose their salaries.

The club loses money from the fact there’s no income from gate receipt and television rights from La Liga and the Champions League fixtures at the moment.

With the wage cut, Barcelona could operate a little longer in the time of coronavirus outbreak.
