Juventus loses again, even though Cristiano Ronaldo scores

Cristiano Ronaldo scores a record-breaking goal in 10 consecutive Serie A matches, but still not enough to prevent Juventus from losing as Hellas Verona beat the champions 2-1.

It was the third defeat this season for Maurizio Sarri’s side and second in three games after losing 2-1 to Napoli just two weeks ago.

Juventus are on course to win again when Ronaldo scored in 65th minute, but defensive errors cost them three points as they conceded two goals in the final 15 minutes of the game.

Fabio Borini scored an equaliser in 75th minute, before Giampolo Pazzini scored the winner through a penalty less than five minutes before the final whistle as Leonardo Bonucci punished for a handball.

Ronaldo could set a new record soon after scoring his 15th goal in the last 10 games, and his 20th league goal of the season.

The 35-year-old could equal the all-time Serie A record of scoring in 11 consecutive games held by Gabriel Batistuta and Fabio Quagliarella.

However, Juventus are only three points ahead of Inter Milan, who have a chance to climb on top as they play AC Milan in San Siro.
