PSG star goalkeeper Keylor Navas and his family have shown a touch of genuine humanitarianism by graciously welcoming 30 Ukrainian refugees into their home, offering them a roof above their heads besides food and clothes after the PSG star heard about their plight.
Keylor Navas has shown that his class goes beyond just executing brilliant saves in between the posts and that he is just as classy off the pitch as well in reverberating with compassion for his fellow humans in opening up his home to 30 Ukrainian refugees seeking shelter, protection and food.
The goalkeeper and his wife, Andrea, have offered a place of temporary sanctuary for this despondent group fleeing their country amid Russia’s on-going invasion and installed 30 newly-purchased beds in their home cinema, where they usually relax as a family to watch films, according to Sport.
Navas and his spouse quickly made the offer of hospitality the moment they heard a nearby association was bringing the group of refugees back from Poland and even held a Christian evangelistic service to help minister to them.
Andrea has urged others to follow their lead, writing on Instagram:
“We can help these children, some with their mother, others not, young people alone, with just their clothes, which was the only thing they could take.
“We can contribute whatever non-perishable food, clothes, personal hygiene items, etc. I share the information! So that they can feel love in the midst of so much pain.”
It’s not the first time Navas and his wife have shown their charitable nature. Back in 2017 they started the ‘Times of Hope Foundation’, which helps provide aid to the most disadvantaged children in their native Costa Rica.
Navas is currently on international duty with his country as they look to secure a place at the Qatar World Cup later this year. He kept a clean sheet in a valuable 1-0 win over group leaders Canada on Friday (March 25).
