Barça’s return to La Liga begins with Mallorca visit

La Liga is finally set to return from June 11. After an initial two weeks of individual practice, then progressing to training in small groups and finally to full training, players and officials are now beginning to gear up for a complete return to action.

Barça’s return to La Liga action kicks off on June 13 at 22:00 CET, with a visit to the Estadio de Son Moix to take on Mallorca.

League officials have confirmed that the first gameweek will span over four days from the 11th-14th of June and that teams will be required to play every day of the week in a bid to effectively complete the season within a reasonable time frame.

Scheduling aside, which could still be subject to minor changes depending on temperature and weather, president Javier Tebas also revealed plans for ‘Aplauso Infinito’ , which will allow fans from around the globe to record their applause to be subsequently used in the stadiums behind closed doors to simulate spectator participation and add to the ambience.

With the plans for the season’s completion looking promising, all eyes will be rivetted to TV screens not only in Spain but all over the world to see the outcome of a long-awaited match after agonising months of being hemmed in by the coronavirus lockdown without any football being played at all.

Viva La Liga!
