It looks like Premier League club Tottenham HotSpurs may have some work to catch up on if they hope to complete a deal for Franck Kessie, with Foot Mercato reporting that PSG have approached AC Milan about a potential move in January.
Kessie’s future has become a talking point with his current deal with the Rossoneri up for grabs next summer although they want to keep him, unsurprisingly, with reports indicating that their latest offer would see the Ivorian earn around £112,000-a-week at San Siro Foot, according to Foot Mercato.
Kessie is also in the meantime attracting some exciting bids from other suitors, with PSG being one prepared to pay him around £148,000-a-week should he move to Parc des Princes. It has also been suggested that Leonardo has spoken to Paolo Maldini about potentially doing a deal in January.
The PSG chief has suggested they could offer a small fee in the winter should Kessie make it clear that he wants to go, which should put Spurs on the alert as it had been previously reported that Tottenham had put a contract worth £132,000-a-week on the table. Which is why the English club would be very interested to know what PSG have up their sleeve as they look to seal a deal for the 24-year-old.
Kessie is arguably one of the most exciting midfield talents plying his trade in Europe and it would be a massive coup if Spurs can beat PSG to Kessie’s signature as they clearly they face a daunting task. PSG, apart from their spending power, have also the added advantage of being able to offer the irresistible attraction of Champions League football with the likes of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe in tow, apart from the rest of the outrageous luminaries they have already assembled this summer.
However, Tottenham are not without their advantages, too, with the Premier League’s appeal over that of Ligue 1 being one. Additionally, game-time should also be easier to come by in North London for the Ivorian.
