The Blaugrana are clearly eager to offload players to give way for Messi’s new deal, and French star Antoine Griezmann currently under fire from accusations of racism would be willing to leave the club if the right offers come his way.
Barcelona’s well-documented financial encumbrances have left the Blaugrana outfit no pleasant options but to execute extreme measures to put their house in order, prioritized towards signing their savior Lionel Messi one more time.
With that primary objective and mission in mind, the club has reportedly started to offer some of their highest wage earners to rival clubs to give them salary cap relief, with one of those names being none other than Griezmann.
Not unaware of the sponsorship backlash the club could face if they keep the player around with regards to the player’s off-color racism scandal of recent days, the Blaugrana side has started to offer the player to Premier League teams, with Chelsea being named as the team that would be willing to hire the French footballer.
Sources close to these discussions suggest that Barcelona would be ready to accept a little over $50M for the player’s transfer, which would mean less than half of what they paid Atlético to hire the expensive footballer. As for the player himself, the Frenchman would reportedly be keen on leaving Los Culés to join the Blues as the season’s Champions League winners are obviously attractive enough to him to push his deal through.
Now, the main thing left for the Blaugrana side will be to strike a deal with the Blues while the iron is hot to make way for Messi’s new deal. Meanwhile, Chelsea seem unperturbed about how much time they could take to seal the deal, which may cause problems for both Barcelona and Griezmann.
