Gunners legend Patrick Vieira is reportedly edging closer to becoming the new Crystal Palace manager after having been out of work since leaving his previous job with Nice at the Ligue 1 side.
Negotiations are said to be progressing, despite there being some cautioning of restraint from Palace’s end after an arduous search for the appropriate manager this summer, according to the Daily Mail. The daily also goes on to say that if all goes as planned and hoped by both sides, Vieira would then apparently be handed as much as £80million to spend in the transfer market.
This would be a very interesting development for the Eagles as they look set for a major rebuilding job after the departure of Roy Hodgson at the end of last season.
With Vieira at the helm and also with the possibly of a number of new signings coming in, there could be a very new-look side at Selhurst Park waiting anxiously to kick off in the 2021/22 campaign.
Arsenal fans will surely also be keen to keep an eye on Vieira’s progress at Palace as he remains one of the finest players in their history.
