Erling Haaland reportedly agrees terms to join Real Madrid

Wunderkind Norwegian striker Erling Braut Haaland looks all set to become the first big name signed for Carlo Ancelotti’s new era with the Spanish giants, if reports in the media are to be believed.

Real Madrid had been noticeably quiet with regards to transfer rumors for the better part of this month, but Los Blancos’ fans could well have reasons to be optimistic for the upcoming season as news has just emerged that Madrid have reportedly agreed terms to sign the current hottest young striker in the world.

The Norwegian thunderbolt has been linked to Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester United and other teams, but reports close to the player’s superagent Mino Raiola are murmuring that Real Madrid have secured one of the hottest transfers for the summer.

Earlier today, Italian newspapers La Gazzetta dello Sport, La Repubblica, and SportItalia stated that Haaland will join Real Madrid this summer, as the club have allegedly already agreed terms with the youngster in regards to his wages. Now, the main order of business left to be wrapped up will be to convince Borussia Dortmund to accept an initial bid between $118M and $130M.

The Bundesliga side would be forced to face the scenario of letting the footballer leave the club next summer thanks to a low-cost clause in his contract that would see him leaving Dortmund for just a bit over $89M. According to all sources, Real Madrid would be trying their best to convince Dortmund to take their bid now rather than lose over $30M next summer. Which could make sense to the German side.

The Spanish juggernauts had seemingly kept this deal well under the radar by publicly stirring up their interest in signing Kylian Mbappé to create hype as a diversionary tactic, but now it seems that they will focus those efforts on signing Haaland by splashing the cash now while trying to lure Mbappé away from PSG on a free deal next summer.
