Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho has beaten fellow starlet Erling Haaland as the top wonderkid in world football.
The 20-year-old England international, still heavily linked with Manchester United, has become one of Europe’s fastest-rising stars alongside Norwegian Haaland, and can certainly walk tall with the ultimate bragging rights on this occasion as he topped a star-studded list of wonderkids.
The Daily Star compiled the rankings, stating that the United target has already become a ‘world-beater’, and pointed out why Sancho has become one of Europe’s most promising talents with his most impressive stats in the Bundesliga, United’s interest and the whopping £108m price tag Dortmund have slapped on him.
Haaland, 20, also impressed during the previous campaign with both RB Salzburg and Dortmund.
The Norwegian striker, after having made the switch from RB Salzburd to Dortmund in January, had scored 28 times in 22 appearances for Salzburg in the first half of the season and carried over his incredible goalscoring exploits to Dortmund as he scored 13 times in his first 15 appearances in the Bundesliga.
The Daily Star heaped praises on the Dortmund striker and said he is already showing signs of being ‘one of the world’s best centre-forwards’.
Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, who won a treble with the German side last season, secured the third spot in the rankings.
Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood and Manchester City’s Phil Foden were the only two players to represent the Premier League.
