Stabbed and robbed, former Liverpool defender admits to hospital

Andre Wisdom faced one of the most horrific moment in his life as he was stabbed during a robbery when he was back in his home at Liverpool.

The former Liverpool defender whom currently plays for Championship side Derby County was visiting his relatives in the Toxteth area of Liverpool when the attack took place.

“Andre Wisdom has been the victim of an unprovoked assault and robbery. He sustained injuries which resulted in him being admitted to hospital,” said a statement from Derby.

“The club will focus its efforts on supporting Andre and his family.”

Wisdom joined Liverpool at the age of 15 in 2008 before he was handed a professional debut in 2012 by Brendan Rodgers.

He spent on loan with four different clubs Red Bull Salzburg before moving permanently to Derby in 2017, after almost 10 years staying at Liverpool.

Wisdom played during Derby 2-1 victory over Reading on Saturday.
