[VIDEO] Aubameyang promises his late grandfather that he will join Real Madrid

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been Arsenal greatest finisher since arriving from Borussia Dortmund for a club-record £55m fee in January 2018, scoring 49 goals in 74 Premier League appearances.

But his future became unclear after his contract set to expire in next year, as Aubameyang reportedly refused to extend his stay in London.

One of the reason might be the promise he made with his late grandfather few years back.

“Before he died two years ago I promised him that one day I would play for Real Madrid.

“My grandfather was from Avila, not far from Madrid. It’s what I said to him.

“I know it’s not easy but it’s something I keep in mind.

“I celebrate my goals with a cartwheel in honour of Hugo Sanchez.

“I’ve seen many videos of him on the internet and I’ve been following him since I was a boy.”

Real would definitely be interested to sign Aubameyang, who are obviously a cheaper option than Kylian Mbappe, as the new main striker to replace the aging Karim Benzema.

As for Arsenal, they have no choice but to sell Aubameyang for at least £30million, to avoid him from leaving the club for free next summer.
