Amazing decision made by Borussia Dortmund have converted a section of their world-famous Signal Iduna Park, opposite the Yellow Wall to become a coronavirus testing centre.
The North Stand of the 81,000-capacity stadium will serve as a treatment centre for suspected COVID-19 patients, with the club working in cooperation with the Statutory Health Insurance Association of Westphalia-Lippe (KVWL).
Former Dortmund youth player Luca Kilian, now of Paderborn was the first Bundesliga player to test positive for coronavirus, something he has since overcome.
“I think it’s time to help when things have become so difficult,” said Dortmund CEO Carsten Cramer.

“If we can do that by making our stadium available, I think it’s a wonderful contribution that Borussia Dortmund can make.
“When we were asked we were initially thinking this would only be for a short time.
“But everybody at BVB very quickly came to the conclusion that yes, we’d be happy to participate.”
The DFL Ordinary Assembly recently resolved extensive adjustments to the licensing process to ease the strain on all clubs in Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2.
