Antoine Griezmann is the hero for Barcelona as he scored twice to avoid embarrassing defeat to third division club, UD Ibiza in Copa del Rey round of 32.
The Catalan side trailing as early as 9 minutes after Josep Caballe Martin scored the first goal of the game.
It took more than 70 minutes before Barcelona can break through Ibiza’s defence as Griezmann scored in 72th minutes, before scoring the winner in the late second half.
Yet, Griezmann can’t avoid from feeling embarrassed by the Barcelona performance.
“We struggled, especially in the first half when we didn’t have a shot on target,” he said to Marca.
“We tried to fix it at half time. In the second half, we were better. Two chances arrived and they went in.
“I scored today thanks to my teammates.”I had to play higher up and I had to wait for the chances.
“It was tough, but we did it and we’re keen to win this tournament. I’m here to help with goals, assists and work.
“I’ve not reached my ceiling yet. I try to work and improve.”
Griezmann backed Quique Setien’s system, despite playing three defenders could have cost them a result.
“It’s a tactical tool. We’ll get used to it and work during the week.”
