Premier League English

A quick take-out of the season thus far

Jurgen Klopps & The Liverpool Spiel Of Continued Success

In the first half of the 2019–20 Premier League, Liverpool advanced five points to stay at the top of the table with their series of first six match wins, earning Klopps his fourth and fifth (August and September) consecutive awards for Premier League Manager of the Month.

Liverpool set a club-record seven successive away league wins with their 2–1 triumph over Chelsea, thus making Liverpool the first Premier League club to win their first six games in successive seasons.

Klopp earned additional laurels when he was also named The Best FIFA Men’s Coach for 2019, breasting the tape ahead of Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino.

The Reds subsequently carved an additional notch by following up with a 2–1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on 30 November, hence equaling an all-time club record of 31 consecutive league matches without losing a match. The club eclipsed their own record a week later with a spectacular 5–2 win over Everton. The Reds then topped their Champions League group after their victory against Red Bull Salzburg

To date, The Reds have opened up a five-point gap at the top of the table this weekend after beating Newcastle United, with Manchester City losing to Norwich City. Manchester City edged out Liverpool in a neck-to-neck title race last season but the Reds look like the firm favourites to win the Premier League this season. Way to go, Reds!

Gunners Hopeful Of Blazing New Trails With Ex Skipper-Turned Manager

With Freddie Ljungberg having failed to successfully navigate the Arsenal flagship through halcyonic waters after the recent dismissal of Unai Emery, the Gunners have, in a sudden twist of plot, turned to a familiar face to revitalize their fast plummeting season. Former Gunners skipper Mikel Arteta is making an epochal return to his old playing grounds after a three-and-a-half years hiatus at Manchester City ably assisting Pep Guardiola.

Arteta, after having been confirmed as the club’s newly-appointed manager, is fully confident of whipping Arsenal back into imperious form and compete for trophy glory like in the days of old. He has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Arsenal, which currently sits tenth in the Premier League having glaringly won just five of their 17 fixtures to date this season.
