Vietnam have been placed in the top-seeded pot for 2020 AFC U-23 Championship qualification thanks to their runner-up position at this year’s tournament.
The Young Golden Stars will be joined for the 2020 tournament by South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and North Korea in the No.1 pot in East Asia zone.
Two other Southeast Asia representatives including Thailand and Myanmar are in the No.2 seeded group, alongside China, Australia and Chinese Hong Kong.
The No.3 pot includes Cambodia, Indonesia, East Timor, Laos and Singapore. Mongolia, Brunei, the Philippines, Chinese Taipei and Macau are in group four.
Meanwhile group five consists of minors Guam và Northern Mariana Islands.
The 2020 AFC U-23 Championship qualification will take place in March next year.
