Vietnam are seeded in pot three in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The Golden Stars, who are currently placed in the 103rd of the FIFA World Rankings, have been allocated in the same pot with Kyrgyz Republic, Lebanon, Palestine, Oman and India.
The 12 teams, who received an automatic bye into the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 after qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Asian Qualifiers Final Round, have already secured their places in pots one and two.
Thailand, who were qualified for the final round of 2018 World Cup qualification, are placed along China, Syria, Uzbekistan, Iraq and Qatar.
Another team from Southeast Asia, the Philippines, make up Pot 4 with DPR Korea, Bahrain, Jordan, Yemen and Turmenistan.
Hosts UAE, along with Iran, defending champions Australia and the tournament’s most successful team, Japan, as well as South Korea and Saudi Arabia take positions in pot one.
The draw is set to take place at the Armani Hotel at the iconic Burj Khalifa on May 4 for the 24-team tournament.
