AS Roma becomes first European club to launch Iranian Twitter account

AS Roma launched a Farsi Twitter account after Iran state TV censored their logo.

Iranian state TV censored AS Roma logo of a she-wolf suckling twins which is also the city’s ancient symbol in a UEFA Champions League match coverage.

This led to huge criticism from Iranian and many have expressed their anger and shame in the Italian clubs official pages in social media.

On the other hand, AS Roma directors decide to launch a Farsi Twitter account (@ASRoma_Persian) for Iran in the same day that their team thrashed Barcelona and went to UEFA CL semi-final. as the first message, they twitted:” We are proud as #ASRoma to be the first big European football club to be in touch with our fans in the Farsi language.”

Around 20000 have followed this account less than 24 hours.
