Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has assigned the task of reaching the final match of the 2018 AFF Championship to head coach Park Hang-seo.
On Tuesday, coach Park and technical director Jurgen Gede had a meeting with VFF board of director and representatives of the Vietnam national coaching council. In this meeting, they discussed the schedule of the national teams in this year.
The AFF Championship, which takes place November 8 to December 15, is Vietnam’s biggest football tournament this year. After the streak of poor performances at three consecutive tournaments, Park and his side are expected to reach the final match.
On the other hand, VFF also aimed high for the 2018 Asian Games, which will be held from 18 August to 2 September 2018 in Indonesia. With the success of the U-23 team in the AFC U-23 Asian Championship campaign this January, the Vietnamese believe they can reestablish that achievement in the Asian level multi-sport event.
