Vietnam Golden Ball winner Dinh Thanh Trung has targeted the AFF Cup title this year with the national team.
Thanh Trung and his side Quang Nam beat Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) 1-0 to lift the trophy of the National Super Cup on Saturday.
After the game, Thanh Trung, who is the captain of Quang Nam, was awarded The Most Valuable Player with the prize of VND 10 million (430 USD).
In the post-match interview, the 2017 Vietnam Golden Ball winner set winning AFF Cup title as his target this year.
“I have set my biggest goal this year, which is winning the AFF Cup trophy with the national team,” Trung said, as quoted by VnBongda.
“With Quang Nam FC, despite having won the two titles of the V.League and the Super Cup, we could not satisfy with ourselves. My own target is to improve myself in this season.
“I do not care about which awards would be given to me. I just want to focus on the achievement of my team.”
