Adelaide United striker Džengis Čavuševic misses the remainder of season due to injury

Adelaide United striker Džengis Čavuševic will miss the remainder of the A-League season due to an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury, the club confirmed on Thursday.

The Slovenian striker suffered the injury during a training session ahead of the home game against Wellington Phoenix this Sunday.

Adelaide United doctor, Dr James Ilic, said about Čavušević’s injury on the club’s website: “Džengis has had scans on his knee to determine the nature of this injury and we can confirm he has ruptured the ACL in his left knee.”

“Džengis will now discuss the best course of action with a surgeon to begin the recovery process as soon as possible.”

The -year-old forward has previously torn his ACL twice, resulting in his 450-day off between 2012 and 2014.
