Brazilian legend Dunga interested in coaching job in A-League

Brazilian legend Dunga has targeted a coaching job in A-League, according to reports from SBS The World Game on Friday.

The World Game revealed that Dunga, who took the coaching role at Brazil national team coach twice, was looking for the next chapter in Australia. In the past, the 54-year-old received “good reports” from a number of Brazilian players about Australia top-flight football competition.

“I am always looking to challenge myself as a coach and having spent many years with Brazil’s national teams I would like to be in charge of a club on a day-to-day level,” Dunga said.

“Good reports have come back to Brazil about the level, quality and professionalism of the A-League and the competition intrigues me.

“Regardless of interest I’ve had in Europe, Australia would be a very interesting project, a new and exciting challenge.”

Dunga, was the captain of Brazil’s 1994 World Cup-winning team, enjoyed a four-year spell in charge from 2006-2010 before he was dismissed following the team’s quarter-final defeat at the World Cup in South Africa.

The former player was then enjoying his second stint after the 2014 World Cup, replacing Luiz Felipe Scolari.
