World superstars Aubameyang and Hamsik confirmed to play at 2018 King’s Cup

In this year’s King Cup tournament, hosts Thailand will face Gabon, Slovakia and United Arab Emirates.

The defending champions will play Gabon on 22 March, while Slovakia and UAE will battle on the same day in the friendly tournament. The final is due on 25 March at 7.30 pm, while the third-placed game will take place ar 4.30 pm.

As all four teams announced their final squads on Thursday, world superstars including Arsenal’s forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon), Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik and former Liverpool player Martin Skrtel (Slovakia) will be featured in Thailand.

Meanwhile, the UAE will field their strongest squad possible, lead by former Asian player of the year Omar Abdulrahman and Ahmed Khalil.

Thailand, who have to defend their title, have called up goalkeeper Kawin Thamsatchanan (OH Leuven, Belgium) and J1 League players Teerasil Dangda (Sanfrecce Hiroshima), Theerathon Bunmathan (Vissel Kobe) and Chanathip Songkrasin (Consadole Sapporo) for the tournament.
