Fabio Cannavaro on second stint at Guangzhou Evergrande: I’ve never felt pressure

Fabio Cannavaro is confident about his success in the second stint as head coach of Chinese Super League defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande.

Being the highest-paid manager at Chinese Super League, however Cannavaro has managed just two wins in five games for Guangzhou Evergrande since the start of the year.

“I’m not saying there’s no pressure at Evergrande, there’s pressure at Evergrande all the time,” the 44-year-old Italian dismissed suggestions he is under pressure, as quoted by Reuters.

“But I am myself and, no matter if I’m playing for Real Madrid or at the World Cup, I’ve never felt pressure.

“Being in a football environment is where I’m most comfortable. I only feel excited and motivated when it comes to crucial, difficult, important matches.”

Cannavaro assumes his duties in Evergrande for the next season after succeeding Luiz Felipe Scolari, who stepped down after the seventh consecutive Chinese Super League’s triumph.
