Vietnamese midfielder Luong Xuan Truong set for V.League return

Vietnamese playmaker Luong Xuan Truong will not extend his contract with K League side Gangwon FC, his club Hoang Anh Gia Lai announced on Thursday, as reported by Tien Phong.

In 2016, Truong signed a loan deal with Incheon United from HAGL, making him the first Vietnamese player in the history of the Korea professional football league.

However, in the whole season, Truong made just four appearances in the league and did not ever manage to play 90 minutes.

Then Truong came to Gangwon FC on a loan contract. This was seen as a better move but the 22-year-old midfielder seems not to prove much and has not been given many opportunities to play in the South Korean top-flight league.

Not to waste Truong’s talent, his club HAGL are planning to bring him back to Vietnam to compete at V-League next season.

In October, the club’s representative Nguyen Tan Anh revealed Truong had been linked with a move to a European club.
