Coach Ljupko Petrovic: Many Vietnamese players good enough to go abroad

Despite ending his contract with FLC Thanh Hoa, coach Ljupko Petrovic still praised the development of Vietnam football and predicted that Vietnamese players would flourish in the near future.

“The quality of Vietnamese football will develop in the coming years when it can attract many qualified and skilled players. Vietnamese players have the techniques and are trained independently at the youth level,” Petrovic said in a press conference on Sunday, as quoted by The Thao & Van Hoa.

On the other hand, the former European Cup champion stated that there had been many Vietnamese players who can compete in foreign countries such as Song Lam Nghe An playmaker Phi Son, and others from Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Hanoi FC.

“I also know that there are very high-quality youth training centers in Vietnam,” he added.

Petrovic will reportedly part ways with Thanh Hoa after failing to lead the club to this season’s V-League trophy.
