Man Utd feared Jadon Sancho would sue them after Erik ten Hag’s unprofessional public statements about forward’s mental health struggles

It has been disclosed that Manchester United feared that Jadon Sancho had grounds to sue them over Erik ten Hag having gone public in the early days that the winger was struggling with mental health problems in 2022.

The Daily Mail reports that United feared that Sancho could potentially sue the club after Ten Hag’s statements about Sancho’s mental health had gone public. The fears came from the club’s Human Resources department, and while Ten Hag stuck to his guns that he was only being supportive, it is reported that he never got the nod from Sancho to speak about his supposed struggles in front of the media.

The situation then had been far from ideal with the two were at loggerheads, and Ten Hag claimed the former Borussia Dortmund star was unprofessional, while Sancho promptly retaliated by adamantly insisting the claims were untrue and that he was a convenient scapegoat targeted by the Dutchman.

Sancho had actually felt that he was being bullied to a point by his manager, and was subsequently given the cold shoulder by the gaffer and was soon shipped off to Borussia Dortmund last season on loan as he eagerly sought a fresh start.

Now, with his only appearance this season being in the Community Shield, Sancho is again poised to depart United before the transfer deadline, with Italian giants Juventus reportedly eager to sign him.

Sancho finally and hopefully looks poised to draw a line under his disastrous United spell. In 83 games, he has scored 12 goals and provided six assists.
