Tottenham dangling new £400,000 per week contract carrot before Harry Kane to snub Bayern Munich transfer

Tottenham are reportedly willing to offer Harry Kane a new contract worth £400,000 per week if he snubs a transfer to Bayern Munich.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is obviously hoping to tie Kane down to a long-term extension as his current deal is set to expire in 2024, especially since Bayern Munich is going all out to lure the talismanic striker to the Bundesliga. According to The TelegraphKane stands to earn £400,000 per week in wages if he were to recommit his future to Spurs, which would then position him among the Premier League’s highest-paid players.

Levy remains doggedly determined to retain Kane’s services regardless of Bayern Munich’s intentions. However, dangling the financial carrot may not work this time as it is believed that Kane’s decision is not hinging on the financial aspect of the deal but rather on the sporting project under new manager Ange Postecoglou.

Kane is said to have already spoken to Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel and the former Chelsea boss has assured him that they could potentially win the Champions League together if he were to make the switch to Germany. Coming from the man who led the Stamford Bridge outfit to a recent Champions League trophy only a few years back, this would be pretty appealing and irresistible to the England skipper. Meanwhile, Spurs’ new boss Postecoglou conceded frankly that he had received no assurances over Kane’s future from chairman Levy and “is kind of going along, trying to concentrate on things I know right now”.

Bayern have reportedly made a second bid to the tune of £70 million plus add-ons after their first offer was snubbed. However, it might not be enough to convince the tough-negotiating Levy as hereportedly want £100 million for the England international.
