Erik ten Hag given green light for Man Utd plan with striker ‘set for transfer talks’

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani should be gearing up to be on the move this summer window with Manchester United and Bayern Munich both showing serious interest securing his signature in this transfer window.

The two topflight European clubs will go head-to-head in a battle to sign the France international striker, with United hopeful of signing two forwards this summer – one ideally profiled to immediately fit into their first 11 line-up, which would be an ideal fit for Kolo Muani, and a younger option for rotation throughout the campaign.

Originally, Spurs striker and England skipper Harry Kane had been the top priority in Erik ten Hag’s strike-list this summer but United chiefs have grown increasingly wary of approaching Spurs to negotiate the as they believe that the hard-nosed Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will not be entertaining negotiations regarding the striker’s exit and definitely not to a direct rival in the Premier League.

The Athletic had reported earlier this month that interest in the striker alongside Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund has been moved forward with deals being assessed this summer. This evidently signals the continued overhaul of United’s first-team squad under Ten Hag.

As for Kolo Muani, interest in the France international may not prove all that simple toa chieve either as United have received a boost in that Frankfurt will not seek to increase his relatively modest €1.5million annual salary while his future is uncertain – as detailed by Sky Sports in Germany. L’Equipe reports that the Frankfurt striker’s future will now be coming to a head after having been fully focused on playing for France over the international break and also having insisted that nobody speak over his future, which have served to bring him increasingly into the spotlight.

Kolo Muani is apparently open to a move which could lead to a significant arrival at Old Trafford. The 24-year old striker scored 23 goals in 45 games for Frankfurt after arriving on a free transfer following his departure from Nantes, besides playing a big role in France’s World Cup campaign last year – netting in the semi-final win over Morocco and appearing in the showpiece against Argentina.

Kolo Muani aside, Benfica’s , whom Ten Hag coached at Ajax, are also under consideration at United, while the club have also approached Atalanta regarding their striker Hojlund.
