Lionel Messi insisted his relationship with PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe remains strong, saying they have indeed discussed the World Cup final in the aftermath of the cataclysmic clash between their two nations.
The Seven-time Ballon d’Or winner was interviewed about his relationship with Paris Saint-Germain teammate Mbappe as the two have to share the spotlight in the Parc des Princes and the Argentine wizard said they have never had any issues between them.
Argentine outlet Ole asked Messi if he had discussed the final match events in Qatar with Mbappe, to which the Argentine skipper and talisman replied: “Yes, we talked about the game, the celebrations how people had lived in Argentina in those days that I had been on vacation and the festivities we had. And nothing, nothing more, but good, really good.”
He added: “I was on the other side too, I had to lose a world final as well and I didn’t want to know anything about that, about what had happened. And nothing that had to do with the World Cup at that time, that’s why I don’t want to talk about it either. But the truth is that there is no problem with Kylian, quite the opposite.”
The Argentine unmistakably carried his nation all the way on his magnificent shoulders to unbridled glory in the recently-concluded Water World Cup despite having had tobattle unceasingly for the final honors after the France wunderkind and his PSG teammate Mbappe pulled off a sensational comeback whipping a few rabbits out of his own bag of tricks to send the final to extra-time and penalties.
PSG will be immensely delighted that both their stars are getting along nicely and on the same page as their massive Champions League last 16 clash with Bayern Munich lurks just around the corner.
Additionally this also bodes well in their pursuit of stepping on the pedal to convince Messi to extend his contract with the club in their on-going talks.
