French international Kylian Mbappe is fast running out of contract and his employers Paris Saint-Germain remain unyielding in their determination to secure a contract extension package for the World Cup winner before summer is over.
Understandably the Parisian club’s Qatari owners are highly concerned as the end of the season draws close with no current progress on a new deal anywhere in sight with the star striker having been heavily linked with a free transfer for the 23-year-old. Reports had also emerged alleging that Mbappe has already flatly said no to a ‘blank cheque’ offer from the Ligue 1 giants.
However, Mundo Deportivo reports that PSG are assuredly not giving up hope of retaining their star asset, as it is also alleged that the Les Bleus attacker has made three demands as part of the on-going talks.
For one, Mbappe apparently wants fire-proof assurances of PSG´s sustenance and ability to fight in order to push for the Champions League top honors consistently every season as they bid to clinch a first ever title in 2022.
Secondly, he also sees himself being the central figure within the first team, ahead of compatriots Lionel Messi and specifically Neymar, and entrusted with greater responsibility as the key person for set pieces and penalties.
And, to top it all off, Mbappe is asking for a firm answer regarding the future of Mauricio Pochettino at the Parc des Prince as there have been insistent rumors about him leaving in the summer, with Zinedine Zidane touted as his potential replacement.
