Latest reports allege that Zinedine Zidane will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.
The Frenchman will reportedly resign from his position as Real Madrid manager at the end of the season, with club legend Raul and former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri being two candidates in line to replace him.
Zidane will supposedly leave the Bernabeu even if Real go on to win La Liga this season, according to the Mail. It is said that Zidane’s mind is already made up about leaving Real even if they pip Atletico to top spot in the final two matches of the season.
The 48-year-old has won two La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues during his two spells as manager but Zidane saw his Real side limp out of European contention earlier this month, with Chelsea beating them 3-1 on aggregate in the semi-final.
The French maestro is rumored to become hot favorite to be the next Juventus boss once his exit from Real is officially confirmed as Zidane spent five successful years as a player at the Old Lady before joining Real in 2001.
Things are coming to a boil at Juventus as the future of Juventus head coach Andrea Pirlo looks seriously in doubt following a dismal season both domestically and in the Champions League.
The Old Lady’s run of nine-straight Serie A titles has been ended, with Inter Milan winning the Italian top flight for the first time in a decade as Pirlo’s side crashed out of the Champions League at the first knockout stage to Porto.
Juve are now in danger of failing to qualify for Europe’s elite club competition next season, as they currently sit fifth in Serie and the Mail claim Real president Florentino Perez has identified Raul and Allegri as his two potential targets to replace Zidane.
Former Spain and Real striker Raul is currently a coach for the club’s youth team but does not have any senior managerial experience.
The report also says there will be pressure from within the club on Perez to appoint Raul.
However, the president may instead opt for the vastly experience Allegri instead.
Allegri has been out of work since leaving Juve at the end of the 2018/19 season and has been linked with a number of top jobs in Europe.
The Italian won 11 major honors during his five years as a manager in Turin.
