Barcelona returned to full training for the first time in three months but they were left in sweat as their captain Lionel Messi out injured after suffering from a small thigh muscle injury.
Messi took part in the first two training sessions on Monday and Tuesday but was absent from Wednesday’s session, while the team had off day on Thursday.
However, Barcelona expected Messi to return to training in the next few days, and will be available when they meet Real Mallorca on June 13.
“This Friday, he did specific work to avoid any risks because our first La Liga match is eight days away. He is expected to return to working with the group in the next few days.”
Messi is the leading scoring in La Liga with 19 goals this season.
