Russian league will be returning on June 21 after six months without football.
The league usually have a three-month winter break from January to March, but COVID-19 break forced the league to suspend the season longer than it was intended to be.
Russian Premier League president Sergei Pryadki said the restart date have been long overdue.
“I am glad that we resume the season at the best dates for the current situation — in the penultimate week of June. This will allow all players to prepare for their return to the field and play the season in a short, but reasonable time.
At the moment, they only have 8 games remaining while the second and third divisions ended the season.
With recommendation from FIFA, up to five replacements of players will be allowed per match. Decisions on the places for the matches will be determined by the situation regarding the outbreak.
