(VIDEO) Eric Dier fight with fans who insult his family

One thing no one could ever understand is when your team lose, there always will be someone who resorted to insult the team, even family of the players.

Footballers have heart too, and Eric Dier feels the fan who insulted his family is a little too far, after Spurs lose 3-2 on penalty shootout to Norwich in FA Cup fifth round.

It’s weird to insult Dier who scored in the penalty shootout loss to Norwich, even though keeper Tim Krul ended up saving two Spurs penalties.

After the final whistle, Dier is seen climbing into Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’s bottom tier and was involved in a fight before security intervened.

However, Spurs manager Jose Mourinho backed Eric Dier despite the scuffle.

“I think Eric did what we professionals cannot do but probably every one of us would do,” Mourinho told BBC.

“I repeat we professionals cannot do it, but I repeat I am with the player and I understand the player. The fans were with the team until the last penalty kick that we missed.

“This person insulted Eric, the family was there, the younger brother was not happy with the situation.”

Mourinho was bullish on whether Dier should be punished for his actions.

“If the club does that I will not agree, but he did wrong.”

“The people that are in these privileged positions by the tunnel, of course some are Tottenham fans.

“But I think a lot of corporate, a lot of invitation, a lot of people with special status and probably it is the place of the stadium where I sometimes have doubts over if they are the real Tottenham fans, because these are the ones who support the boys until the last.”
