(VIDEO) Man City into the quarterfinals of FA Cup, again

A solitary goal from Sergio Aguero is more than enough to send Manchester City to quarterfinals of FA Cup, after defeating Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at Hillsborough.

Aguero scored his 23rd goal this season with a fine finish in 53rd minute, though it’s not exactly the whole story of the game.

City have been struggling to break the opponent’s defence, despite controlling 80 percent of possession and producing 20 shots with 9 of them on targets.

In comparison, Wednesday only had 20 percent of possession, 1 shot and none on target.

Since Pep Guardiola joined Manchester City in August 2016, the Spaniard has overseen 15 victories in FA Cup matches (D1 L2), at least five more wins in the competition than any other manager over this period.

Man City have kept 11 clean sheets in their 18 FA Cup matches under Pep Guardiola, conceding just nine times; only Chelsea (12) have managed more since the competition kicked off in 2016.

Since he joined Manchester City in 2011, Sergio Aguero has netted 20 FA Cup goals in just 22 games in the competition, the most of any player.
