RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner revealed he is proud to be linked to the best team in the world like Liverpool.
This comes after Sport Bild reported that Liverpool were interested in signing Werner at the end of the season, despite having an established attackers such as Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
But the 23-year-old is having an impressive season, as he scored a winner through a penalty spot to beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on Wednesday.

That goal takes his tally to 26 goals in all competitions this season.
“Liverpool is the best team in the world at the moment and when you’re linked with that team it makes me very proud,” the Germany international told Viasport.
“But I know that Liverpool play a lot of good players and I have to improve myself to learn much more things to get on this level to play there.”
