Naturalized player Hoang Vu Samson is close to join Thai League 1 powerhouse Buriram United, according to reports from Vietnam.
According to Bongdanet, a Thai football agent posted a photo of a Vietnamese player with face hidden on his personal Facebook page. A caption is written on the photo, which is “Welcome to Buriram”.
After the photo was posted, many supporters pointed out that the player is Hoang Vu Samson, a Nigerian player who gained Vietnamese citizenship in 2013.
Samson has proved his talent since 2007, when he still was with Than Quang Ninh at V-League 2.
The 29-year-old moved to several clubs in the V.League and becomes the league’s top scorers with over 140 goals.
Atletico Madrid once asked for his service in 2011, but the deal did not happen due to his contract with Hanoi T&T could not be canceled.
