Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg came through the academy ranks at FC Bayern and was part of the squad that won two Bundesliga titles – making 25 first-team appearances for the club.
8 years on, the combative midfielder had notched up over 134 appearances across all competitions for Southampton, where he also earned the captain’s armband. However, with one year left on his contract and the desire to “play at an even higher level”, Höjbjerg announced his intention to leave and was later sold to Tottenham for £15m.
