The 2018 AFF U-18 Youth Championship opener between rivals Vietnam and Thailand ended with a goalless draw.
Vietnam entered the game with high confidence and enthusiasm. In fact, the Young Golden Stars dominated the ball possession and attempted to find the net with their attacking strength.
However, it seemed like an unlucky day for the Vietnamese as their efforts were unable to earn them a goal over title favorites Thailand.
Meanwhile, Thailand worked hard to defend against threatening attacks. The game ended with none of both side were able to score.
Following the opening game, Vietnam are scheduled to play the Philippines on July 3, Laos on July 5, Indonesia on July 7 and Singapore on July 9.
